All Club Time

Starting this week, both Thursdays and Sundays will be club practices. That's right, the Thursday Beginner Class is over and we have the whole time block to devote to the club members. Both Thursdays and Sundays are 6:30pm - 9:00pm.

Thanksgiving Week

Next week is Thanksgiving Break. We will NOT be having practice on Thursday, November 27 or Sunday, November 30. 

We WILL have practice this week on the normal Thursday/Sunday schedule. So there will be practice on Thursday, November 20 and on Sunday, November 23.

Sunday Schedule

Sunday practices will focus on structured lessons for both our beginner and more advanced dancers, surrounded with open partner practice. Here's the schedule:

When: Friday November 14th. Beginner lesson starts at 7pm and dancing starts at 8p and goes on to 11p.

How do I get there? Go on http://www.uml.edu/maps/directions.htm and follow the directions or if you want to take the train you can go on the Commuter Rail to Lowell and take the official university shuttle and just tell them you want to be dropped off at Cumnock Hall.

Welcome back! For all existing club members, our first practice is Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 6:30pm. Practices are Thursdays and Sunday from 6:30 - 9:00 pm. Come dance all the rust off the gears, and be ready for the class and the competitive season!

The UML Ballroom Club and Campus Recreation Center are proud to announce two ballroom classes for the general public starting this fall: the Beginner Class and, for the first time, an Intermediate Class. These classes are open to all and usually fill up fast, so register early!

Schedule

Dance classes begin for the Fall semester on  Thursday, September 25, 2008, and go to November 13, 2008.

All classes are on Thursday evenings.

Beginner Class

This 8-week beginner dance program is designed to introduce you to some popular
ballroom dance styles.  A different style will be covered each
week.  This program will be held on Thursday evenings in Studio 1
from 6:30-7:30pm, starting September 25th through November 13th.  No partner
needed.  Register at the CRC Welcome Desk by September 25th! 

Intermediate Class

This 8-week intermediate dance program is designed to challenge
participants who have mastered the beginner class. A different style will be
covered each week. Focus will be on technique and the lead-follow
relationship as new steps are explored.  This program will be held on Thursday evenings in Studio 2
from  7-8pm, starting September 25th through November 13th.  No partner
needed.  Register at the CRC Welcome Desk by September 25th!

June 7, 2008 is Dancing With the Lowell Stars to benefit Shedd Park

Summer Beginner Ballroom Class will be starting soon!

Yes, we are running a summer edition of our popular Beginner Ballroom class. Stay tuned for the dates! The class will take place at the Campus Recreation Center in Lowell, and will be six weeks, one night per week.

The Ballroom Dance Club will bring TV to UMass Lowell reality with the first-ever Dancing with the UML Stars. On Wednesday, April 23 at 7 p.m., 12 faculty and staff members will pair with club veterans and perform the six major ballroom dances in the Cumnock Hall Auditorium. The event is free to students and all the proceeds will go to UML’s Relay for Life.
