Club Officers

Mark ShermanCaptain

The Captain is responsible for the competitive aspect of the club and overseeing other club functions. It is the duty of the Captain to plan trips to competitions and to ensure club members are properly prepared to the best of their ability to compete. The Captain works closely with the President to ensure the entire club is working soundly.

President

The President is responsible for all the non-competitive aspects of the club, specifically the educational component of the organization, which includes setting up lessons, managing the Instructional Class, and managing relations with vendors and equipment sponsors. The President works closely with the Captain.

Social Coordinator

The Social Coordinator is in charge of planning club social events as well as promoting area events held by other organizations to the team. The Social Coordinator keeps an ear to the ground for upcoming events and dances and gets the word out to the club and general University ballroom community by means of emails and maintaining a page on the website. The Social Coordinator arranges rides to social events and communicates with the social coordinators of other area clubs to promote inter-collegiate dance events.

Gillian MurphyOutreach & Events Coordinator

The Outreach & Events Coordinator plans and leads the club Community Service projects, and generally strengthens ties between the Club and the community. The club performs one major community service project each semester.

Mary AngeleriSecretary

The Secretary is responsible for record-keeping and clerical duties of the Club. The Secretary maintains attendance records and ensures club members are properly registered with the Club and the Recreation Center. In addition to normal clerical duties, the secretary is responsible for promotional materials and establishing a presence in the University newspaper.

Treasurer

The treasurer is responsible for tracking all aspects of the club budget. The Treasurer collects and records dues and competition fees as well as disburses funds to events and competitions on behalf of the club. The treasurer works closely with the Director of Club Sports to maintain accurate financial record-keeping and to have checks generated in the University name.
