UMass Lowell cleaned up at Holy Cross this weekend, pulling in 19 top-8 finishes, including three 1st Places and two 2nd Places.
Ten couples competed, spanning levels Newcomer through Gold, with top-half or better placements for everybody.

The team just competed at Brandeis on February 6th and at Boston University on February 14th. We did very well, raking in ribbons across all the American Style dances.
Highlights include Mary Angeleri & BJ Sokolowski winning 4th in Silver Swing at BU, Mark Sherman & Heather Martin winning 1st in Novice (that's actually a high level) Smooth (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz) at BU, and Pat Mulhern & Chelsie Rose Clogston winning 5th in Silver Swing at Brandeis.
BJ & Mary made 4th place in Silver Swing, and 9th overall in the Silver Rhythm category.
Ambarish & Shan made semifinals in Bronze Waltz, coming in 15th in both Bronze Smooth and Standard.
Mark & Heather took 1st in Novice Smooth (WTFV), also coming in 8th overall in Silver Rhythm.
Nick & Emily made semifinals in Bronze Tango, finishing 9th in Bronze Smooth and 17th in Bronze Rhythm.

On February 16 and 17, 2008, Boston University held it's seventh annual Ballroom competition. Here are the UML highlights: Mary Angeleri and Justin Chin won 4th place in Bronze Swing. Mark Sherman and Heather Martin won 2nd place in Silver Mambo and 4th place in Silver Waltz/Tango. William Sokolowsky, Niva Kallus, Ed Jahngen, and Heather Sweeney all placed in the Bronze smooth three-dance.
On November 11, 2007, Brown University hosted their annual competition at Moseley's on the Charles in Dedham, MA. UMass Lowell was there in force, and here are the results.
Highlights: BJ and Kat made quarter-finals in Newcomer Foxtrot. Results from Rhythm events are not yet available.
This past Saturday two couples from UML went down to the University of Connecticut for the 10th Annual UConn Ballroom Dance Competition. It was a very fun and overall successful day.
William Sokolowsky, a newcomer, danced up to Bronze level for his first competition, leading Mary Angeleri. They made marks in Rumba, Swing, Tango, and Foxtrot; not bad at all for BJ's first contest.
Mark Sherman and Heather Martin competed together for the first time, dancing in the Silver level. They were called back to the second round in the Waltz/Tango combined event, recieved marks in Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz and Rumba, and got to semi-finals in Swing and Mambo.
